What are your hobbies when you’re not competing?
camping, fishing, canoeing, cooking, spending time with family and friends.

How about music? Who’s your favorite?
I love absolutely everything… hip hop to classic rock, r&b, metal, pop, country…. It’s all good.

Do you have any heroes?
All of my coaches past and present have made an incredible impact on my life. Especially my current coach Dr. Anatoliy Bondarchuk. He is one of the greatest, most accomplished coaches in the world, and he is still trying new things, still learning, and most importantly he is still humble.

Favorite Stadium, Event, Field, or Track?
I have a few favorites. Mt.Sac is a great meet that I really enjoy competing at every year. (And In n’ Out Burgers…. Need I say more?) Frankisch-Crumbach is a hammer only meet held in a tiny town park in Germany. There is a beer garden and the atmosphere is incredible! Also, anytime I get to throw in a stadium, at night and under the lights!

What are some of your biggest Accomplishments?
Winning the Silver Medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia. Winning the 2009 Canadian Championships --- It is my first National Title since 2005 and it feels great!

Favorite TV show?
Lost, Two and a Half Men, Friends, Law & Order, SNL, Sex & The City

When did you start competing in your sport?
When I was 9 years old I first joined the Kajaks Track & Field Club in Richmond, BC. I’m still representing 20 years later!


Jennifer's Bio

Jennifer Joyce was born September 25, 1980 in Vancouver, British Columbia Jenn attended University of California where she was a two time All American and owns the Cal record in the hammer at 214. In Madrid Spain Jenn crushed her previous PR in the hammer by throwing 70.35. In 2005, she improved her lifetime best in the hammer with a new Canadian record of 224-6. In 2006 Jenn won the silver medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. 2005 Jenn also competed at the Track and Field World Championships. Jenn was a member of the 2008 Canadian Olympic Team and competedin Beijing, China. 2009 Jenn Madrid Spain Hammer PR 70.35
